The ABC’s of Potty Training Your Dog
Dog potty training can be easily done when the dogs are still young. There are effective ways on how to implement dog potty training. Adult dogs and older ones which are not domesticated can usually bring more difficult ways to let them learn some of behaviors that you want to implement. The secret to success in implementing dog potty training is timing. When puppies consume food or fluid normally they urinate or poop in about 15 to 20 minutes. Your task will be to put your puppy in a place where he should go potty. You also have something else to do, therefore you are not always present to watch over the puppy, cleaning after your pet is also an area of the dog potty training.
Here are some of the inherent and uncomplicated puppy potty training methods for the dog to learn. You can take the dog outside and let him remain there until he is done pooping or if ever his poop is not released for the given period. You can do this when the dog wakes up during morning, once he has eaten his breakfast, after he has taken his lunch, or right after taking a nap, when you released him from his crate, after taking his dinner, after taking a snack, before going to bed, or when he whimpers at nighttime. You should not forget to appreciate him every time he let out a poop.
Remember to feed and give water to your dog if you can bring him outside at once. Mostly in a dry or hot weather, you usually don’t let your dogs get dehydrated, but for weeks that you let him go through dog potty training, this restriction will accelerate the dog potty training procedures for your pet. There will be less unwanted incidents that your dog will learn as quickly as possible. But you should be aware of any possibilities of dehydration.
When you trained him to pee or poop in particular area where you taught him to do it, clean the waste quietly. If he wants to have playtime with you during the moment that you are going to clean up his mess, just ignore but avoiding to yell or physically hurt the dog to drive him away.
If the two of you are inside the house, you should keep him near you, or put him in a safe place such as his crate or somewhere wherein you can see him.
You should remember that when you are training your dog, you are also building a strong relationship with it. You should be able to realize what his surrounding is from his point of view, surrounded with huge individuals who are very accommodation and sometimes angry, so you should learn to be patient.
Dog potty training is not as fun as you think it is. You are anticipating for the pee or poop of the puppy whatever climate you are in. If your dog is running all over the surroundings of a secure place when you take him out, you can do other things such as simple exercises so you won’t get fed up of the task.
