Doggie House Training Tips
You and your kids simply love welcoming your new dog to your home. The kids will be raring to touch it, hear it bark, and play with it. You will love this scene and maybe forget that you took home a dog. Something that, if not trained, chews on furniture and relieves himself wherever he wants to.
Before those things happen on a constant basis, you will have to house train your dog. When you do and it's successful, you will have invested in your peace of mind as well as the safely of your kids.
Now that you know why you want to do this, you have to remember that changing your dog's behavior will happen in two sessions. You need to allot patience for it. Don't hurt your dog. Hitting or spanking him often results in creating aggressiveness problems later on.

Schedule
Getting your dog used to things in your home is done by instituting a certain schedule. Dogs are taught to associate certain activities or times of the day with what you want them to do.
This schedule involves your puppy potty training. If you wish for your dog to not treat the floors and carpets of your home as his peeing and pooping area, he must get used to when he can go out and potty.
Where your dog is allowed to potty is just as important. If the allowed area is just outside the house, then let him out the door fifteen minutes after his meals, or walk him out after you arrive from work.
Your dog will expect this and will abide by it. After breakfast, after lunch, after dinner. It's up to you. In time, house potty training sets in and you won't be furious you have to clean the kitchen floor again. A schedule imposed will let the dog know you don't approve of his making potty on any other time of the day.
Dog Treats
You want to set some incentives, some rewards, to motivate your dog to relieve himself on the scheduled time and on the designated area. When he does so, pat him on the head, or give him a dog treat.
These snacks may include hot dogs, bread, cheese, and dog food you can pick up at any pet store or supermarket.
But treats aren’t' limited to food. Time together through play or a simple hug can be enough.
If he associates your pats on his head as rewards for doing what you want him to, he will come to expect it and do he's told.
Feeding
Giving your dog food is crucial in basic doggie training. You also have to make him get used to a feeding schedule.
Commands
Your dog has to be aware of your commands which should be brief.
Go with the simple ones, like, "Go potty." What's important is that the brevity must be associated with his potty training.
Also, pat him when he does what you tell him to.
House training needs time, and chances won't happen overnight. You need to be devoted.
You have to observe his behavior and try the scheduled feeding and pottying until he gets used to it.
