Special Edition: Dog Uses Newspaper To Find Owner
Reporters at the East London Advertiser were surprised when a Bull Mastiff wandered into their offices Tuesday, presumably to get out of the rain. But the dog, which they nicknamed “Butch,” turned out to have a pretty good idea about how to find his owner.
After running the dog’s picture and story on the paper’s web site, the Tower Hamlets council’s animal warden, Tony Ellerbeck, called in at the paper. Using a scanner, he read the tiny microchip under the dog’s skin and identified him as Simba. His owner, a Mr. Branco, lives two miles away from the newspaper offices.
So far the animal warden hasn’t been able to contact Simba’s owner, but there are several journalists at the paper who would like to adopt the handsome dog.
The Advertiser would like Mr. Branco, or anyone who knows him who sees the information about Simba to contact the paper at (UK) 020-7791-7799. Simba wants to go home!
